F.A.Q.

Find answers to common questions about iRacing synchronization, Pits, Series Rankings, and Social integrations.

Synchronization & iRacing Races
What kind of races are synchronized on PitRivals?

We only synchronize official and ranked iRacing sessions (Official Ranked Races). We do not record Practice, isolated Time Trials, Hosted sessions, or private iRacing League races.

I just finished a race. How long does it take to appear on PitRivals?

Our system communicates continuously with iRacing. Generally, your race will appear on your profile and your Pit's activity feed between 15 and 30 minutes after the results become official on the iRacing website.

I completed an official race but it doesn't appear in my Pit. Why?

This can happen due to three reasons: 1. The race belongs to a license category (e.g., Dirt Oval) that your Pit does not have enabled. 2. iRacing is experiencing API delays. Do not worry; our system has a 48-hour "memory" and will recover your race automatically as soon as the service is restored. 3. You joined the Pit after completing the race. Races are only registered for a Pit if they were contested while you were an active member.

My profile shows a Rookie license, but that is not correct. Why?

This is usually due to temporary iRacing API outages or high server load. Do not worry; as soon as iRacing services return to normal, our background sync will automatically refresh and display your actual license classes.

I finished a race, and it is on PitRivals, but my iRating or license is still outdated. Why?

Race results and driver profiles (licenses/iRating) are processed on different background schedules. Your latest iRating and license safety ratings will update automatically shortly after the race is recorded.

How does iRacing maintenance affect data updates?

During official iRacing maintenance, all synchronization jobs are paused. If you competed in a race right before the maintenance, both your race results and license updates will be queued and processed automatically as soon as the maintenance concludes.

I just signed up while iRacing is under maintenance. Why is my profile empty?

If you sign up while iRacing is down, we cannot fetch your license or career stats immediately. These will sync automatically as soon as iRacing servers recover. Under normal conditions, this sync happens instantly upon registration.

Why does my new profile only show active licenses and no career stats?

Upon creating your account, your profile will only display your active license information. Career statistics, favorite cars, and series are compiled dynamically using data recorded from the moment you join PitRivals.

What time zone does PitRivals use?

To ensure maximum precision and avoid international confusion, our entire system operates under UTC (Coordinated Universal Time), which is also the official standard used by iRacing. All ranking start times, period closings, and race timestamps are expressed in UTC.

Pits & Communities
What happens to my Pit's stats if a driver leaves the team?

At PitRivals, we respect history. If a driver achieved 10 wins for your Pit and then leaves the team, those 10 wins will remain in your Pit's history and global statistics. However, the driver will disappear from live leaderboards.

Can I be in multiple Pits at the same time?

Yes. Your results will automatically be sent to all Pits you belong to, provided that the race category matches the categories configured in each Pit.

What do the Pit privacy levels mean?

• Public: Anyone can join instantly. • Approval Required: Users send a request, and the Pit owner must accept it manually.

Series Rankings
How do Series Rankings work?

Pit owners can create customized competitions. They can define dates, select the exact series that award points, and configure how many weeks or series count towards the total. All custom rankings use the official iRacing championship points system, automatically counting only the highest weekly score achieved by the driver in each included series.

What are "Punctuable Series" and "Punctuable Weeks" (Drop Series/Weeks)?

It is our intelligent discard system. You can configure how many series or how many weeks of competition you want to count toward the final total. For example: if a ranking lasts 6 weeks but is configured with "4 punctuable weeks," the system will automatically discard your two worst results, summing only your 4 best weekly scores. This ensures no one is penalized for being unable to compete on a specific week.

When are the official or finalized ranking results published?

To ensure no one loses points due to technical failures or iRacing delays, we apply a "grace period" of 2 days (48 hours) after the closing date of the tournament. Once this time has passed, the ranking is sealed, archived immutably, and the results become 100% official.

I reached the custom ranking limit. Can I have more?

To ensure platform performance, we have pre-defined limits per Pit. If you represent a large community or an eSports team and need higher limits, contact us at contact@pitrivals.com, and we will evaluate your case to enable a superior plan.

Integrations & Socials
How does the Discord integration work?

Each Pit can link its Discord server. Once connected, our bot will automatically publish a visual rich message every time a member finishes an official race, displaying their result, iRating gained/lost, and a link to the certificate.

Is it safe to link my personal Discord or Twitch profile?

Absolutely. We use the official OAuth2 standard. PitRivals only receives permission to identify your username and verify your email. We never have access to your passwords, nor can we send private messages or publish anything on your behalf without your explicit permission.

Can I unlink my social media accounts?

Yes. In your user settings, you can unlink Discord or Twitch at any time. Upon doing so, your connected data will be removed from our system instantly, ensuring your privacy.
